We Are Full! Colossians 1-2

Colossians 2:9-10 (ESV)

For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.

We are full!   Think of this thought today.   The world is out to find fulfillment. It is a major journey for all mankind to find their fulfillment.   They look to education to fulfill them.  They look to skills and trades and talents to fulfill them.  They look to wealth to fill them.  They look to power, prestige, fame and popularity for satisfaction.  They look for likes on their social media posts.  They want and desire recognition from any sources that will validate their desires.  Paul is writing to the churches in this region to warn them that what the world offers is not needed.  But it is not the world that is offering more to them.  It is false teachers who have snaked their way into positions of power in the church.  They are trying to teach the church that they need more than Jesus.   Paul wants these believers to know that all they need is in Christ. They are full in Him.  In Him is all their fulfillment.  Not only has Jesus giving them all the fullness they need, it is only Jesus who has the authority and rule to provide what they need.  No other entities can supply what they need.  Jesus is not only our fulfillment, He is our sole fulfillment.  Nothing else needs to be added.  Nothing else can be added.   Jesus makes us full with the complete need of all things we need from God.  Note how Peter adds to this same thought:

2 Peter 1:3-4 (ESV)

His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.

In Jesus we have all things that pertain to godliness.   In Jesus we have become partakers of the divine nature.    We have all that we need in Jesus. We are full!! Think of that thought today.
