Deuteronomy 11:7
For your eyes have seen all the great work of the Lord that he did.
Tag: Faith Allows Us to See God’s Works
The nation of Israel has gone through a great transition. The parents, who saw all the marvelous works of God when they came out of Egypt, have died. In their place, their children have been raised up to enter the promise land. Moses is now telling them about the things they have never seen. He wants them to believe them and believe God, even though they have not see these great miracles. God requires that they earn about God via faith. They did not see the miracles, but they are still required to believe in them. The only way this can happened is by faith. Note this verse:
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Faith is the thing we see or have when we can not see the thing we are supposed to see. Faith replaces the sight. But, faith is to be just like sight. It is to have the same power. We don’t see the wind, but, by faith we believe it is there. That might seem like a bad analogy, because we do see the affects of the wind. However, we do see the affects of God in our lives. We don’t see Him, but by faith, we believe He is acting. We, by faith, have to see the resurrection of Christ. The disciples saw Him after He rose from the dead. But, God requires us to, by faith, believe that Christ did raise from the dead. Faith is the evidence of things not seen. By faith we believe God’s power, His plan and His purpose for our lives. Faith replaces what we can’t see about God with the evidence we need for assurance. We believe God’s Word to be true, by faith. We believe everything He says will come to past because we believe by faith that God is truthful.
