Psalms 93:1-2 (NASBStr)
The Majesty of the Lord. The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty;
The Lord has clothed and girded Himself with strength;
Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.
Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting.
When you get up in the morning, how do you decide what you are going to wear for the day? Is it determined by where you have to go? Is it determined by how you want to look? Is it determined by some loyalty you have given yourself over to and therefore wear a brand that makes you popular? In the above lines of Psalm 93 we see that God is said to be "clothed" with majesty and "clothed and girded" with strength. The ultimate determination of what you will wear each day is based upon what is in your closet. You don't wear what you don't own. And, you don't own what you don't buy. So, the clothes you wear each day are determined more about the character of your test than it is the context of your day. God's "clothes" are based upon His divine character. If the first two lines of the above Psalm tell us "how" God is clothed, the next lines tell us "why" He is clothed in such a way. God is clothed in Majesty and Strength because He has established the world; has an eternal existence; and will be here forever. God is powerful and eternal. God is creative and permanent. God deserves to be clothed with majesty because of who He is. We can't wear what we can't own. Only God ... no other gods ... can be clothed in majesty and strength. God reigns because of WHO He is. No other god or thing or person has the clothing God has. He deserves our praise.
