In Desperation Turn to Your Salvation - Psalms 30-32

Psalms 30:2-3 (ESV)

O LORD my God, I cried to you for help,

and you have healed me.

O LORD, you have brought up my soul from Sheol;

you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.

Psalms 30:8 (ESV)

To you, O LORD, I cry,

and to the Lord I plead for mercy:

Psalms 31:2 (ESV)

Incline your ear to me;

rescue me speedily!

Be a rock of refuge for me,

a strong fortress to save me!

Psalms 31:9 (ESV)

Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am in distress;

my eye is wasted from grief;

my soul and my body also.

Psalms 31:15 (ESV)

My times are in your hand;

rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors!

Psalms 31:17 (ESV)

O LORD, let me not be put to shame,

for I call upon you;

let the wicked be put to shame;

let them go silently to Sheol.

Psalms 31:20 (ESV)

In the cover of your presence you hide them

from the plots of men;

you store them in your shelter

from the strife of tongues.

Do you get the theme of this section of Psalms.   David is the author.  These may be times he is on the run from Saul.  Or, when his son rose up against him.   David’s response to adversity is to turn to the God who is in complete control.   He knows that is his only salvation.   It is only when we know God is our only salvation that we turn to Him in our desperation.
