All Things Are To Praise Him! Psalms 146-148

Psalms 148:7-13 (ESV)

7 Praise the LORD from the earth,

you great sea creatures and all deeps,

8 fire and hail, snow and mist,

stormy wind fulfilling his word!

9 Mountains and all hills,

fruit trees and all cedars!

10 Beasts and all livestock,

creeping things and flying birds!

11 Kings of the earth and all peoples,

princes and all rulers of the earth!

12 Young men and maidens together,

old men and children!

13 Let them praise the name of the LORD,

for his name alone is exalted;

his majesty is above earth and heaven.

God has made all things to praise Him.   Our worship and praise in church on a Sunday morning is often our “time” to praise Him.  We typically have to have a band, or a song to bring that worship we experience on that morning service.  It is often called the Sunday Morning Worship service.   But as we read the above verses we read that the act of praise and worship can certainly contain Sunday morning, but it is not the highlight of that praise for God. It is a mere moment.   God demands praise from all creatures, at all times.  We are to bring praise to Him.  And we are not alone in that praise.   See creatures are to sing praise to Him.  The fire from lighting, the banging of hail, and the cold and wintery mix of weather are the sounds of creation singing out in praise.   We seldom look at a snow storm as His creation singing out to Him.  Mountains, hills, all types of trees and beasts and birds are all singing His praise.   Kings of the earth and all peoples were created to sing His praise.   We are not to be in worship of self or the creation around us.  We are to sing praise to Him, with creation.   His majesty is to be exalted.  That is our calling.  Sunday morning is nice.  But it is one hour of our obligation.   There are 167 more hours in a week to sing His praises.  Use them all!
