God’s Glory Via God’s Weather - Job 37

Today’s weather is supposed to be 75° with a slight chance of rain.   Why?

Job 37:10-13 (ESV)

10 By the breath of God ice is given,

and the broad waters are frozen fast.

11 He loads the thick cloud with moisture;

the clouds scatter his lightning.

12 They turn around and around by his guidance,

to accomplish all that he commands them

on the face of the habitable world.

13 Whether for correction or for his land

or for love, he causes it to happen.

I love Job 37.   It is the last speech of Job’s fourth friend, just before God speaks to Job.  Elihu is reminding Job of the power of God over creation.  Imagine if God can do this with the weather, what He can do in any other areas of life, like whatever you are living right now.  He is so powerful.  Enjoy the SONshine today!   We ought to simply bask in God’s powerful glory and the manifestation of His glorious grace as seen in the face of Jesus:

2 Corinthians 4:6 (ESV)

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
