Genesis 6:9
These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God.

Noah stood out to God.   Later, in this same story of Noah and The Flood, we read:

Genesis 7:1
Then the Lord said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation.

Why was Noah righteous?

Genesis 7:1
Then the Lord said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation.

By “faith” Noah obeyed God:

Genesis 6:22
Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him.

Genesis 7:5
And Noah did all that the Lord had commanded him.

If we want to get noticed by God for being righteous we have to begin with obeying God in faith.   Noah walked with God because Noah took God at His Word and obeyed it.   This is BEFORE the LAW.   Noah had some revelation from God and obeyed it.  If we want to walk with God we simply have to decide to live on faithful obedience to God’s Word.  That is how to walk with God.   This devotional is being written on December 31, 2018.  My commitment for 2019 is to be a man who is noticed by God because he walks with God in faithful obedience to God’s Word.   I will fail, no doubt.   But, my commitment is to establish habits in my life that lead to faithful obedience through the power of the Spirit.
