Tag: These are the Words of God and of Christ - Revelation 1-5

Revelation 1:1-2
The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw.

When we read God’s Word we can be assured that God said them.   Yes, this is simply a statement FROM God’s Word ABOUT God’s Word.  This is just a statement that SELF claims to be the authentic Word of God and of Jesus Christ.  If you choose to believe that this is NOT the word of God, there is no convincing something it is.   To come to God you have to believe that a righteous and holy God would not keep those He loves in the dark about what He is, Who He is, or What He has done for those He loves.  If you reject God’s Word you have to reject the existence of a God.   What good would there be if there was a God with no worshipers or no one knew He existed.  So, if you reject the existence of God, you would have to reject that this is His Word.  But, if you believe there is a greater power, who is God, than you would have to believe He has to talk to you.  It would make no sense for Him not to.   So there has to be communication between Him and us.  Here is that communication.  A collection of books passed down through the ages that are in complete harmony as to contents and substance.   In the above verse it self proclaims that the Bible is true and that this book, specifically, is God and Christ’s message to us about the end times.  When we read it we read because it will bring life to our souls.   We don’t read it as some history book alone (although it contains real historical things). We don’t read it to master its intents (although if we do it will change our lives).  We don’t read it to get our “wish” for the day granted (although God is all about meeting our needs as we ask Him).   We read it because it gives life to our soul and hope to our life.   God has a plan and He is working that plan, even when we don’t see it.   We have faith in that plan and that this is the plan for us ... laid out in God’s Word and Christ testimony.
