Jesus Reigns Forever and Ever - Psalms 146-148

 Psalms 146:10 (ESV)

The LORD will reign forever,

your God, O Zion, to all generations.

Praise the LORD!

The above truth has been mentioned before in the book of Psalms:

Psalms 10:16 (ESV)

The LORD is king forever and ever;

the nations perish from his land.

Psalms 29:10 (ESV)

The LORD sits enthroned over the flood;

the LORD sits enthroned as king forever.

It is also a theme of the announcement of Jesus’ birth to Mary:

Luke 1:32-33 (ESV)

He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

It is also a theme of Paul and John:

1 Corinthians 15:24 (ESV)

Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power.

Revelation 22:13 (ESV)

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

We can rejoice that we are loved by the King of the Universe who will reign forever and ever.   The leaders of our age come and go.  They are temporary fixtures in the sky of power.  Like falling stars their flame burns out and they disappear.    Think of all the renown leaders of history as far back as you can go.   All gone!   Only Jesus will remind to be king forever, to all generations.
