Psalms 145:18 (ESV Strong's)
The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
Truth: God is near those who pursue them without hypocrisy!
Many people pursue God. But, many of those who pursue God with a design in mind. They want a God is loving and seldom want a God who is BOTH loving AND just. Somehow those who pursue God believe that He should be what they are looking for, rather than pursuing Him in truth ... in a way free from falsehood. The only way to pursue God in truth is to assure we are doing so by faith with no prejudice in what we want to find. The women at the well had a preconceived idea of what worship should look like. However, Jesus told her that her worship would be different if she pursued Him in faith:
John 4:23-24 (ESV Strong's)
But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.
God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
God is there for those who want to believe in Him. God will reveal more and more about Himself if we start with the belief that He is God and we are men and we no nothing about Him. What we know about Him comes from His revealing Himself to us. But, we can't know Him if we start with a false premise and a false desire to know who He IS and not who we WANT Him to be. God reveals Himself to those who pursue Him by faith and the Spirit and in Truth.
My 2026 Theme Verses: Psalms 145:4-7 (ESV) One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds, and I will declare your greatness. They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.
